FREEDOMfx

Newsroom Solutions' FREEDOMfx is a low-cost, high-end display solution for exclusive use with NewsTicker. Perform smooth squeeze backs and squeeze ups with uncompressed animated backgrounds (clip stores) while displaying sponsor logos and cutting or crawling NewsTicker data. Even without the DVE effect, the FREEDOMfx can produce a stunning on-air look for a fraction of the cost of high-end character generators. Give your local newscast the network look by inserting your logo between each headline in a crawl.

Now, with the intelliCommander, you can more easily transition in and out of your NewsTicker display via an intelligent GPI trigger. Smoothly transition from a squeeze to full screen on the way to a commercial break, while pausing NewsTicker's loop. Ease back into NewsTicker by performing a smooth squeeze back, revealing your ticker display, live on air and in full broadcast quality.

Since the FREEDOMfx has been designed specifically for use with NewsTicker, it has all the features you would expect:
> Broadcast quality real-time DVE transitions (squeeze-up with minimal aspect distortion utilizing effective frame crops, and L-squeeze left, right, or center)
> Support for uncompressed seamless and continuous background and foreground animations
> Full 32-bit alpha keying for perfect transparencies
> Supports crawls, cuts and dissolves within one broadcast sequence (i.e. crawl your headlines, then cut your sports scores)
> Automatic two-line word wrapping for non-crawling headlines that are too long

Our dedicated CG employs some of the most advanced 256-bit 2D/3D graphics technology on the market today, including 32-bit RGB-alpha processing and 256 levels of anti-aliasing. The FREEDOMfx employs anisotropic filtering on its texture mapping engine to ensure broadcast-quality scaling and perspective.

The guts of the FREEDOMfx include a 10-bit YUV 4:2:2:4 mixer, with composite, Y/C, and analog component I/O. For digital shops, it can be equipped with an optional SDI (SMPTE 259M) video I/O module. A genlock input is provided as well as a linear key output for downstream keying when used in non-DVE applications. Both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios are supported.
